ESB Electric Ireland
Electric start
In 2010 ESB Customer Supply embarked on a journey to re-brand their company, one of the most recognisable and respected in Ireland, to become ESB Electric Ireland. In Spring 2011 this was completed and Arekibo, as ESB Electric Ireland’s online agency, partnered with them to plan, design and develop the online transformation.
Renewed Energy
Arekibo’s task was to work simultaneously with the ESB Electric Ireland’s business, ICT, branding and advertising agencies to ensure the newly evolving ESB Electric Ireland identity was consistent across all media; from digital to print to broadcast.
This was a complete site redevelopment which included, creation of the digital strategy, online branding, web development, copywriting, search engine optimisation and the production of an online switching application for new and existing customers.
Switching to ESB Electric Ireland
A major part of Arekibo’s work involved co-coordinating with the business and the ICT teams to creating an accessible, user-friendly and intuitive switching process. Together we defined the business requirements, rendered the information architecture and designed the user experience to ensure that all customers could switch online in a seamless and efficient manner. A comprehensive user testing program was conducted by the Arekibo team with a broad spectrum of users recruited to validate design and functional decisions.
The campaign was launched in April 2011 and was an immediate success offering the Irish market a comprehensive set of affordable electricity and gas price plans – ESB Electric Ireland has brought new energy to the Irish electricity and gas markets.
